food, sugars and snack might be always on your sub conscious, thus why they appear in your dreams. you may feel like you don't desire these things, but they are still on your sub conscious.

have you tried stating an intention before falling asleep?

Have you purchased a book on dream analyzation yet? I know it can be hard when choosing a book because you may want one that doesn't steer you down a path of pseudo research so I usually will ask a friend who I feel may be a little bit more versed or experienced in the topic. Do you have the Discord app for Secret Energy yet? There is a dream section in there that you can inquire.

I usually have what seems to be pointless annoying dreams when I'm expecting a child

Maybe it's a sigh that you do many pointless things in this dream that we call reality, did you get to the bottom of it yet.

According to Klaus Vollman, seeing food in dream is related to feeding your animalistic side. It  can be unsettled energy in the emotional body.

The type of food might signified the lack. Chocolate - passion and happiness. Meat connected to the carnal instincts. Seeing junk food in that way may be noting something that needs to be clarified in something being consumed and depending on your setpoint, might be a sign of trash in life.

Personally one time also saw a very meaningful dream about foods. It was teaching me to differ different foods and when to choose them. In real, it mean from now on could decide which energies are good for me and which ones are just not doing anything
